IPL 2022 Auction – Australians in IPL Auction:

9 Australians with 2 Crore Base Price: Ashton Agar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, David Warner and Adam Zampa – who have set the highest minimum base price of 2 Crore

4 Australians with 1.5 Cr Base Price – Aaron Finch, Chris Lynn, Nathan Lyon, Kane Richardson – are in the next bracket, with a base price of 1.5 Crore

1 Crore Base Price Bracket: James Faulkner, Moises Henriques, Marnus Labuschagne, Riley Meredith, Josh Philippe, D’Arcy Short and Andrew Tye are the Australians in the next bracket of 1 Crore.

Mitchell Starc to skip IPL Auction: Mitchell Starc will skip another auction and is one of several notable absentees along with Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Chris Gayle.

Starc has not played in the IPL since 2015 but had said earlier this month he was seriously considering making a return.

However, Starc is believed to be one of a number of Australian players wary of spending more time in bubbles overseas amid a busy 2022 for Australia & will be staying away from the auctions.

Australia is due for a three-format tour of Pakistan to begin on March 3.Australia also have a Test tour of Sri Lanka later in the year, as well as a home Twenty20 World Cup.

Maxwell, Stoinis already retained by IPL Teams: Maxwell, who was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at last year’s auction, was last month retained by RCB alongside Virat Kohli and Mohammad Siraj.

Maxwell has been retained for 11 Crore.

Stoinis, meanwhile, has been picked up by the new Lucknow franchise along with KL Rahul and Ravi Bishnoi.

The allrounder has been a key part of Ricky Ponting’s Delhi Capitals side in recent years. He has been acquired by Lucknow for 9.2 Crores.

After Ben Stokes, who is likely to stay away from IPL this season, Stoinis is the complete package,” Lucknow team mentor Gautam Gambhir told Star Sports.

“He can bat, bowl, and is one of the best fielders. I think his addition is good news for the team.

“We have seen him perform in the ICC T20 World Cup. He can win matches single-handedly.”

The other new franchise, Ahmedabad, has signed Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill as their three new players before next month’s auction.
