Australia, the defending champions, have been a force to reckon with, winning all four of their matches. Their most recent victory was a narrow 9-run win that crushed India out of the tournament. South Africa, led by Laura Wolvaardt, has also been in good form, winning their last two matches against Scotland and Bangladesh. It was their 10-wicket triumph against the Caribbean outfit that paved Proteas into the semis.

In Dubai, teams batting first have won 7 out of 10 tosses, with a 4 out of 7 winning record. However, chasing teams have had a 100% success rate in their 3 attempts. Interestingly, 3 out of the 4 matches won by the batting first side had scores of 160 or above. However, New Zealand’s 110/6 defied this trend, leading to a comfortable 54-run win against Pakistan and a place in the semifinals.
