Australia will host England for a one-off Test in 2027 to commemorate 150 years of Test cricket. The clash between the arch-rivals will be hosted by the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The first Test between the two sides took place in March 1877.

Australia claimed victory in the first-ever Test by 45 runs, kicking off their journey towards a glorious future. Although England and Australia lock horns in the Ashes annually, this one-off Test will be a prestigious one that both sides would want to win.
Cricket Australia (CA) has also announced the allocation of hosting rights for various men’s international Tests, ODIs, T20Is and other matches over the next seven summers, spanning from 2024-25 to 2030-31.
The MCG will continue to host the traditional Boxing Day Test while the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) will host the New Year’s Test.
The Adelaide Oval is set to host the “Christmas Test” each December starting from the 2025/26 season, featuring a mix of Day-Night and Day Tests. Meanwhile, Perth Stadium has secured the rights to host the first Men’s Test of the summer until the 2026/27 season.
