- The Queensland pacer, Michael Neser, managed to bowl just a couple of deliveries when he the field against New South Wales. Marnus Labuschagne finished the over in his absence.
- Michael Neser made his Test debut against England in Adelaide in December.
- He was part of the 18-man squad for Australia for the upcoming Pakistan tour that kick starts in Rawalpindi on March 4 with the Test series. Mark Steketee is likely to replace Neser with Sean Abbott on Standby.
- The injury crisis comes just 24 hours after Steve Smith suffered a concussion against Sri Lanka. He will miss the remainder of the T20I series.
- The added blow comes even as Australia dealing with Will Puckovski’s latest concussion with an extended absence from the game.
Meanwhile, selectors have decided to rest Jhye Richardson who took a fifer against England and is currently part of T20Is against Sri Lanka.
In the meantime, Mitchell Swepson took his 10th wicket of the season after spending a large part of the summer with the national squad. He was released from the T20 squad to take part in the clash against NSW.
