Pat Cummins will lead Australia for the third time away from home, in the clash against India.

The series will be a major test for him as well as for Rohit Sharma, who will captain India against Australia for the first time.

The last time Australia visited India was in 2016/17 where they lost 1-2. They have lost the last three Test series against India and will be eager to put an end to the losing streak under the new Ashes-winning skipper.

Australia would be well aware of the Indian subcontinent conditions, having recently won a series against Pakistan, and would aim to build on that momentum heading into their next visit to Sri Lanka.

Since February 2013 to the present, India have won 15 straight Test series on home turf.

The last time India lost a home Test series was during England’s visit to India in 2012-13, when MS Dhoni and his team were defeated 1-2.
