Despite winning the shortest ever in Test history, the India cricket team has lost its top spot on the World Test Championship (WTC) rankings. After Team India claimed a historic victory in Newlands, Pat Cummins and the Australian cricket team toppled their rivals to take the top spot.
After completing a whitewash in the AUS vs PAK Test series, Australia has gone past India’s point percentage of 54.16 to top the World Test Championship rankings.
With their victory in the third and final Test of the series in Sydney, Australia now has five wins in their eight matches. In terms of points, the Aussies are way ahead of second- and third-spot holders India and South Africa.
However, with a win percentage of 56.25, they are still within the reach of other teams.
With the IND vs ENG 5 match Test series coming up, the India cricket team might overtake Australia by the end of February and gain an upper hand in the WTC rankings.
