Australia cricket team skipper Pat Cummins reckons Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green will have an additional role to play with the ball in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India and Australia will square off in the traditional five-match Test series that commences in November. Laying out the roadmap for the Aussies, Cummins revealed that both Green and Marsh will be bowling more this time.
Pat Cummins advocates for 6 bowlers in BGT vs India
Pat Cummins admitted that the all-rounders weren’t used much during Australia’s previous Test season. He opined that the series against India would be different and will likely see Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh bowling more. The Australian skipper admitted that the team needed the extra bowling options in order to tackle a dominant Indian side.
“I suspect this summer might be a bit different at time. We’ll be drawing on Cam Green and Mitch Marsh a bit more,” Pat Cummins said, as per ESPNCricinfo.
Both Green and Marsh will function as Australia’s go-to all-rounders in the series against India. Pat Cummins reckons that it is an added luxury to have six bowling options, adding that both Marsh and Green automatically make it to the top six in the team owing to their batting.
The team’s bowling line-up will comprise of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh.
