The three-match AUS vs AFG T20I series was scheduled to be played in August. However, with Australia pulling out, fans will have to wait to see when the T20Is would be played. Earlier in 2023, Australia’s men’s ODI team pulled out off a series against Afghanistan for the same reason.

CA maintains that it will continue to work with both ICC and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to find a way to play bilateral matches in the future. Women’s rights have detoriated over the past year as the ruling Taliban continues to impose restrictions on females.
