Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, clinched the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2023, crowning a phenomenal year marked by stellar performances with both bat and ball. Cummins led Australia to significant team achievements, including triumphs in the ICC World Test Championship Final, retaining the Ashes, and securing a historic sixth victory in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

In his role as captain since late 2021, Cummins has not only showcased outstanding leadership but has also elevated his own performance. His influence has propelled the team to new heights, solidifying his legacy as a player who excels under the weight of greater responsibility.

Cummins faced tough competition for the award, surpassing fellow Australian Travis Head and Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja.
