AUS beat SA Highlights: Chasing a below-par total of 119, Australia got off to the worst possible start as their captain was sent back on a duck by Anrich Nortje followed by the wicket of David Warner by Kagiso Rabada in the 5th over. Mitchell Marsh tried to build the partnership with Steve Smith but was removed on 11 runs by Keshav Maharaj.

Steven Smith along with Glenn Maxwell took Australia’s innings forward with a partnership of 42. But just when it looked like Australia are cruising towards victory, Proteas bowlers fought back to remove both of them in quick succession. Smith was sent back by Nortje on 35 while Shamsi clean bowled Maxwell on 18. All-rounder Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade had the job of winning the match for Men in Yellow in their hands and they finished it in a convincing manner.

AUS beat SA Highlights: Australia’s bowlers scythed through South Africa’s top and middle-order batting lineup to restrict them to 118 for nine in their ICC T20 World Cup opener on Saturday. AUS beat SA Highlights: Had it not been for Kagiso Rabada’s 19, which included a one-handed six off Starc in the final over, South Africa would have got less. South Africa started well after skipper Temba Bavuma oversaw a productive first over with two lovely boundaries through the off-side.
However, Glenn Maxwell had other ideas as the star all-rounder offset Mitchell Starc’s expensive opening over with the dismissal of the in-form Bavuma (12), who was bowled by a delivery that turned very little after the batter had refused to play on the front foot, something that could have saved him.

AUS beat SA Highlights: Pacer Josh Hazlewood left Rassie van der Dussen (2) stunned first up with a peach of a delivery that landed in the channel just outside off before taking an edge for wicketkeeper Matthew Wade to complete a simple catch. One of South Africa’s seasoned stars, opener Quinton de Kock pulled Maxwell over mid-on for a boundary but in the first ball of
the next over, the wicketkeeper-batter played a Hazlewood delivery on to his stumps after seemed to play a paddle scoop. The dismissal looked quirky as de Kock saw the ball lob on to hit the stumps.

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa struck twice in the 14th over, including taking the wicket of David Miller, to leave the South Africans tottering at 82 for six, which became worse after Keshav Maharaj was run out following a horrible mix-up. Temba Bavuma – It’s been a privilege to lead the team in the tournament, big responsibility and looking forward to it. Two spinners, KG, Nortje, an all-rounder and an extra batsman in Klassen at 6. Our preparations have been good, have played a lot together. We are coming off with some real momentum, not worried about any favourites tag, but we have to stay true to expectations – we have confidence in our team and we’ll look to do well.
Aaron Finch – We would like to bowl first. Looks like a good wicket, can’t see things changing a lot during the course of the game. We have a lot of experience in the side, we haven’t played as a group, but we’re looking forward to this tournament. Tough selection choices, but Ashton Agar, Kane Richardson, Josh Inglis and Mitch Swepson miss out.
