Understandably, Marnus Labuschagne is over the moon at the moment. On the way to his 9th Test century, Marnus also broke few records.
- This was the 24th instance in the history of Australian cricket, when a batter has scored back-to-back hundreds in a Test match.
- Only Ricky Ponting and David Warner have achieved the record twice.
- Usman Khawaja was the last Australian batter to score two hundreds in the same Test. This happened against England in Sydney earlier this year.
- Labuschagne became just the eighth player to score a double hundred and a hundred in the same Test match.
Labuschagne has amassed 733 runs in just eight games in 2022
Speaking about Labuschagne numbers in Test cricket this year, the right-handed batter has played just eight games and has already scored 733 runs at an astonishing average of 56.38. He has also stroked three centuries one double-hundred and one fifty. His highest score came in the ongoing game against the West Indies.

Australia on top of West Indies on Day 4
Resuming with a lead of 344, Australia took little time to get going. However, Labuschagne soon started to hit boundaries with Warner playing the second fiddle. The left-handed batter missed his fifty by just two runs after being scalped by Roston Chase. After the fall of Warner, Labuschagne was joined by Steve Smith as they both formed a 81-run partnership with Labuschagne reaching the triple-figures before declaring their second innings.
