As per Cricket Australia, Head will not take part in the ODIs or in the upcoming T20Is as well. The opener has been released from the squad to ‘refresh himself’ after a busy Test summer.

The hero of Australia’s bowling from the 1st ODI – Xavier Bartlett – will also be rested for the 2nd ODI as a part of ‘ongoing management’. The 25-year-old Queenslander missed the first half of the domestic season following his return from a back stress injury.

Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood, who was a part of the World Cup winning squad, has been added to the squad for the 2nd ODI.
