AUS vs WI HIGHLIGHTS: Australia thrash West Indies by 164 runs: Australia defeated West Indies to win the Perth Test by 164 runs. Aussies go 1-0 up against the visitors, thanks to the twin centuries by Smith and Labuschagne in the first innings and a century by Labuschagne in the second. If West Indies hadn’t fought so valiantly, the margin may have been substantially greater. Starting the final Day, Nathan Lyon took out both overnight batters and have put Australia on the course of victory in the Perth Test. Lyon took out Kyle Mayers for 10 and than got big Kraigg Brathwaite wicket to break WestIndies resistance. Later, Lyon again struck to remove half-centurion Roston Chase and Kemar Roach to give Australia a big victory. Travis Head got Alzarri Joseph. Lyon finishes with six wickets in the innings, 8 wickets in the match.

Earlier on DAY 3, West Indies was bundled out for 283 in their first innings in reply to 598/4 by the home team.

Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins took three wickets each. Pat Cummins removed opposite skipper Brathwaite for 64 and entered 200 Test wickets club for Australia. In the 58th inning, pacer Mitchell Starc removed Kyle Mayers for just one. Both Starc and Cummins bagged three wickets each. Tagenarine Chanderpaul, the debutant, made a solid 51, while Kraig Brathwaite was the top scorer for WI with 64 :

AUS WI DAY 1 Highlights: Australia ended Day 1 in very commanding position against the WestIndies in PERTH TEST – courtesy Marnus Labuschagne. The Australian No. 3 brought his 8th test hundred and was unbeaten at 154* at STUMPS. Labuschagne first weaved 142 runs partnership with Usman Khawaja (65) and then another 142 stand with Steven Smith. The former Australian captain also finished on unbeaten 59* and with Australia’s score reading at 293/2.

Earlier on the DAY 1, Australia started Perth Test on a bad note. David Warner was sent back to pavilion after scoring just 5. As expected Australian captain Pat Cummins decided to bat 1st. WestIndies handed test cap to Shivnarain Chanderpaul’s son Tagenarine Chanderpaul.
