“We spoke about training, we spoke about his belief on ‘Work on your weakness as long as it’s not taking anything away from your strength’. So he spoke about how a lot of coaches will ask you to work on things and you might work on the short ball and then you start missing the full ball… which was a really, really nice filter for me for training,” Marcus Stoinis spoke about Dhoni.
Marcus Stoinis is in very impressive form for Australia with knocks of 24*, 41* and 28 in the last 3 matches.
He missed a large part of the UAE leg of IPL 2021 with Delhi Capitals due to an injury but returned to play the second qualifier against KKR but had failed to make an impact. In the previous match, he smashed 24 off just 16 to finish off the innings and guide Australia to victory against South Africa.
Meanwhile, Australia will be aiming to dominate Sri Lanka. They will be looking to win the match and get an edge in the Group of Death. The Aussies will face a litmus test against the likes of Spinners Wanindu Hasaranga, Akila Dhananjaya, among others. They are chasing their maiden T20 World Cup and Marcus Stoinis will be key throughout the tournament.
