AUS vs PAK Highlights: Pakistan got all-out for 305 in chase of 368 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday. Imam Ul Haq and Abdullah Shafique scored fifties to provide a good platform for Pakistan to chase down the target but their wickets stop Men in Green’s run-flow and the team eventually fell short of the target. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowler for the Men in Yellow with a 4-wicket haul. Earlier, David Warner (163) and Mitchell Marsh (121) scored centuries to power Australia to 367/9 in 50 overs. For Pakistan, pacer Shaheen Afridi shone with a fifer on a batting friendly pitch.
After being put to bat, Australian openers made a stunning start as they made a full use of Chinnaswamy’s dead pitch. Pakistan’s poor fielding helped the Men in Yellow’s cause as well. Warner, who was dropped on 10, made the Babar Azam and Co. pay as he pile on runs. He supported big support from Mitchell Marsh who scored a brilliant century on his birthday.
The duo put on a 259-run partnership before Shaheen Afridi got Marsh caught. While Warner went on to score 166, he didn’t receive much support on the other end and the team were eventually restricted to 367/9. Shaheen Afridi was the pick of the bowler with a 5-wicket haul.
Chasing a mammoth 368, Pakistan openers made a brilliant start, adding 134 runs for the first wicket. However, Australia didn’t let the openers get away with scoring rate and they eventually got the reward with Abdullah Shafique’s wicket. Imam ul Haq soon followed the suit and the rest of the Men in Green side could not cope up with the increasing asking rate.
