Nathan Lyon came in as the night watchman to partner Harris for the rest of the First Day’s play and kept England devoid of another wicket. However, it is to be seen how long can Harris-Lyon duo can keep England at bay on Day 2 morning. Even if England manages to get one of the batters out, they will have a tough task ahead of themselves with the likes of Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith coming in to bat.
Labuschagne has shown great skills and handled the England bowlers to perfection. He has already scored 228 runs from four innings at an average of 76.00. He is also the No. 1 ranked Test batter at the moment and would like to capitalize on his good form to give his team a big first-innings lead.
