Pakistan’s Test vice captain Saud Shakeel had a rather bizarre response to a question on Shaheen Afridi’s workload. The premium pacer is the spearhead of the bowling attack across all formats of the game and hence there is a lot of workload management involved with the star. Ahead of the PAK vs BAN series, Pakistan’s new vice captain Saud Shakeel had an oops moment at a press conference while talking about Afridi.
‘Go ask Shaheen Afridi’
As per Cricket Pakistan, Shakeel point blankly refused to answer a question on Shaheen Afridi’s workload management and instead suggested the reporter to ask the pacer about it.
“Shaheen (Afridi) can tell you better about this. It is none of my concern,” Shakeel said.
When he was countered with a question noting that he was a part of the leadership group, he simply said that any decision on Shaheen will be taken by the management.
“Shaheen is our main bowler, so the team management will make a decision that is best for him,” Saud Shakeel added.
Saud Shakeel was announced as Shan Masood’s deputy for the upcoming PAK vs BAN series. Bangladesh will play two Tests against Pakistan, starting from August 21.
