Asia Cup 2023 champions Team India has arrived in Mumbai in wee hours of the day. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and others were spotted at the private airport today (September 18).
The Asian champions will now prepare for their next assignment, which is a 3-match ODI series vs Australia which starts from September 22.
Team India won the Asia Cup after a spectacular fast bowling display. Mohammed Siraj, who destroyed Sri Lanka’s top order in the final, led the charge.
Only 50 runs were needed to bowl out Sri Lanka in 15.2 overs. This was both their all-time second-lowest total and lowest total versus India. In terms of the total number of overs where a team has been bowled out, this was the fifth-shortest completed innings.
India’s response saw them defeat the target by 10 wickets in just 37 deliveries. By the amount of balls still in the innings, this is both India’s largest triumph and Sri Lanka’s biggest loss.
With this victory, India won the Asia Cup for a record-tying eighth time and continued to hold the title of most successful team overall.
