The Asia Cup 2023 Schedule announcement has hit yet another snag. While Zaka Ashraf and Jay Shah had a green flag meeting in Durban, the two boards will once again sit down for talks in Dubai on Sunday. A schedule announcement was set for Friday, but will be moved further ahead.
To settle the details and schedule of the ACC Asia Cup, senior members of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will meet with ACC representatives in Dubai on Sunday and Monday.
“To start with, the ACC just agreed to hold one Asia Cup match (Pakistan vs Nepal) in Pakistan but following a series of discussion between former Management Committee chairman Najam Sethi and ACC officials it was decided that Pakistan would host three matches and then a fourth was added,” the official said.
The PCB official continued by saying that it was more crucial to consider the financial implications rather than whether or not games will be played in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan was in discussions with ACC representatives even while Sethi was serving as the PCB Committee’s head to ensure that they would receive a sum equivalent to what India earned by hosting the Asia Cup in the UAE last year.
