The schedule for the Asia Cup 2023 is finally out, and an already exciting year for Nepal Cricket is getting even better. The tournament, which runs from August 31 to September 17, will see the top Asian sides divided into two groups, with the two top sides from each group moving ahead. After participating in the ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers in Zimbabwe, Nepal will be a part of their very first Asia Cup in September. Nepal, however, will have a tough time at the tournament as they are drawn in the same pool as powerhouses India and Pakistan.
While India has won the tournament six times, the Pakistani side has won it twice and will be tough nuts to crack for Rohit Paudel and Co. Nepal will begin their campaign against hosts Pakistan on August 30 in Multan.
Nepal Asia Cup Record
A total of 13 editions of the ODI format of the Asia Cup have been played since its inception. However, this will be the first time that Nepal will be participating in Asia’s biggest cricket tournament. The inexperienced side will be looking to cause an upset in their very first entry into the tournament. Coming off the back of two victories in World Cup 2023 Qualifiers against the USA and Asian side UAE, Nepal have shown they can perform on the big stage and would hope to replicate that in Asia Cup 2023.
