Asia Cup 2023: BCCI vs PCB – Pakistan has lost its battle against BCCI in the Asian Cricket Council Emergent meeting in Bahrain. The ACC has made it clear that ODI Asia Cup in August-September will not be held in Pakistan. Instead, UAE and SriLanka have emerged as two potential alternatives. “Official announcement will be made tomorrow. It not all gracious as one would expect. But the ACC has understood the situation and the Asia Cup won’t be held in Pakistan. UAE and SriLanka are two alternatives. But ACC will take a call on that later,” a senior BCCI official in the knowhow of the meeting told InsideSport.

However, Pakistan Cricket Board are unlikely to give up that easily. As former PCB chief Ramiz Raja threatened, Pakistan may still play the pullout card and boycott World Cup 2023 in India. However, BCCI has already managed to win over other Asian Cricket Boards and PCB is isolated in its battle against BCCI.
“Whether Pakistan will visit India or not for World Cup, is their choice and ICC’s. BCCI and India welcome all the participating nations. As for hosting rights, Pakistan will still get to host it if it happens in the UAE. But a decision on that is still under discussion,” the BCCI official said.
