Asia Cup 2023 preparation has officially started for Team India. Team India stars Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya have started jetting off to NCA in Bengaluru.
Rahul Dravid and his support team are leading the charge in Bengaluru as India’s training camp for the Asia Cup gets underway on Thursday. After returning from Ireland, players like Sanju Samson, Prasidh Krishna, and Jasprit Bumrah will join in the next three days. The Asia Cup 2023 training camp is open till August 29.
Since the conclusion of the IND vs WI ODIs, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had taken a rest. While the rest travelled to Dublin for the India vs Ireland series, other stars like Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav came home after playing the T20 series in the Caribbean.
Only members of the squad will participate in the camp since it is only for the Asia Cup 2023 team.
Asia Cup 2023: Eyes on Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma
Match simulations will be the main emphasis of the Asia Cup 2023 camp in the meantime. As the group hasn’t performed as a unit in the ODIs since July 2022. The entire team will now participate in several match simulations to prepare for slow pitches in Kandy and Colombo.
The emphasis will also be on the particular roles that members of the group will play. Ishan Kishan, for instance, will start for India against Pakistan. He still doesn’t have a clear role, though. With Virat Kohli moving to No. 4, he’ll probably be a No. 3.
But during the 6-day Asia Cup 2023 camp, things will be clearer under the direction of Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathour.
Suryakumar Yadav’s function at No. 6 is obvious. It will also be evident in this Asia Cup 2023 camp if plans have changed in that regard.
