Virat Kohli’s form has been the talking point in the cricket fraternity as the 33-year-old eyes to overcome a bad patch in his stellar career. The former India captain now returns to the Asia Cup after a refreshing break and will hope to get the tone set for the Men in Blue.

In an interaction with broadcasters Star Sports, Kohli revealed that he had worked on his game during the month-long break and had identified his mistakes at the crease. The Indian superstar said that he was working his way towards finding his rhythm and defined his failure in England as a ‘pattern’.

Virat said, “What happened in England was a pattern, so something that I could work on and something that I had to kind of overcome.  When I start feeling that rhythm back, then I know that I’m batting well, which wasn’t the case in England; I didn’t feel like I was batting well at all. So, I had to work hard on one thing that could be exposed again and again which I overcame; right now this is not the case.”

Kohli meanwhile added that his drought of runs had not concerned him much and he treated it as a phase of life. The 33-year-old, who is now in his 14th year of international cricket, said that he understands where his game is and how consistent he can be.

Kohli added, “I know where my game stands and you cannot run this far in your international career without having the ability to counter situations and counter conditions and counter different kinds of bowling. I know there are ups and downs, and when I come out of this phase, I know how consistent I can be.”

He further said, “My experiences are sacred to me. Whatever I have experienced in this phase or in the past, as well one thing that I can vouch for, is that I have never valued myself more as a person.”
