Team India will return home from the US on Tuesday after months away on the tour of England and West Indies. The Men in Blue had toured Ireland and England in June and July, before embarking on a series against the West Indies in the Caribbean and the US.

Now with the series done and dusted over the weekend, Rohit Sharma and Co will return to India on Tuesday. The team will disperse as the main team heads into a short break ahead of the Asia Cup.

India are expected to begin their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28, and the BCCI will hold a three-day camp for the players before leaving for UAE. Former captain Virat Kohli, who was rested from the West Indies tour, has already begun training in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, a second-string India side is expected to leave for Zimbabwe in the coming days. The Men in Blue led by Shikhar Dhawan will play 3 ODIs while the others prepare for the Asia Cup in the UAE. The likes of Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi will tour the African nation.

Kishan and Samson were part of India’s T20I squad against West Indies, but have been excluded from the Asia Cup team. The Zimbabwe tour will be their last assignment before a potential return during the series against Australia or South Africa later this year.
