Asia Cup 2022: Cricketers proposing their girlfriends in stadiums have somewhat become a trend. Last year in the IPL, Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar proposed his girlfriend in Dubai at the stands. Likewise, on Wednesday, Hong Kong batter Kinchit Shah also proposed his girlfriends at the Dubai International Stadium after the India match against Hong Kong. If Chahar’s video went viral during the last IPL, the same was witnessed when it came to the Hong Kong batter’s proposal. The latter gradually, in a matter of hours, became a talking point on social media with fans applauding the  couple.

Dressed in his team jersey, the Hong Kong batter walked onto the seat where his girlfriend was seated. He kneeled down and proposed his girlfriend. Everything was recorded on video with the player walking till his girlfriend’s seat.

It is evident that the girl did not see it coming and her reaction said it all. She went for a hug, but Kinchit went down to his knees and proposed. The player asked, ‘will you marry me’ and the girl was in absolute shock to only say ‘I cannot believe this.’

Even the fans, who were near her seat, cheered the player on. The girl replied ‘of course’, and the player stood up giving his hand for the ring. There were loud cheers for the couple as they embraced one another after he put the ring on her finger.

How did the player fare in the match? When it came to the match, the player did impress with the bat. He scored a 28-ball 30, which was laden with two fours and one six. He was eventually dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. At the end, Hong Kong lost to India by 40 runs.
