The Indian spinner has come across the situation several times when he played for India. He brought up one such occasion in 2011, narrating how the demands spike from friends and family members.
“Whoever called me, all of them were saying same, ‘I need two, four tickets, eight, ten, etc’. I told them I had to come to play here not to print tickets. Please don’t call me for tickets. This is a huge pressure for a player. We do not get India vs Pakistan tickets, we only get limited tickets,” he said in Star Sports Video.
Harbhajan further added in the video stating that during the same match, he was also approached by Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar for tickets. The man from Punjab managed to hand him a few tickets for the contest.
With this revelation, Harbhajan Singh has brought into forefront, the popularity of Indi vs Pakistan matches.
Besides, it also showcases how as cricketers, they have this additional pressure beyond playing the game of cricket on the field.
