Speaking ahead of the Asia Cup, Virat’s manager Bunty Sajdeh made his remark on the mental health and depression phase and said, “The representation of a severe condition like depression is very well understood by Virat. He’s spoken openly on the mental challenges of playing the sport at the highest level and he hasn’t shied away from admitting them.
“Having said that, he’s mentioned that he’s experienced mental challenges at only a certain stage in his career,” Sajdeh added while speaking to Times of India.
While Virat has been struggling with mental illness, his PR team CEO also opened up on the matter and added, “Virat for one will never feel alone when he’s around people who love and support him. That’s where he has got his mental strength from.
“Every top athlete has gone through mental challenges of dealing with pressures and expectations that come with the positions they are at. Depression is too big and significant a term to be used so loosely,” Virat’s PR team manager said.
Virat had earlier that, ” Sometimes in a room full of people who love me, I felt alone.”
Kohli, one of the world’s highest-paid athletes, has not scored a century in any format since 2019. After being rested for the recent tour, he has now been named in India’s T20 squad for the that starts with a match against arch-rivals Pakistan.

Can Virat Come back in form at Asia Cup?
Virat has suffered from lack of form in the recent period and scored only 11 and 20 in the fifth and final Test against Edgbaston and continued his bad performances in T20Is, where he could score only 12 runs in two innings.
This was followed by 17 and 16 runs in the three-match ODI series against England.
Also, Kohli had a sub-par IPL 2022. He could score only 341 runs in 16 games at an average of 22.73. His strike rate also has been going down by the day. In IPL 2022 he scored just with a strike rate of 115.98.
