Everyone remembers India Cricket Team being humiliated and reduced to 36 all out in the Adelaide Test back in 2020. Ravichandran Ashwin has now revealed what then head coach Ravi Shastri did. The former India coach arranged for a karaoke night and sang Hindi songs to uplift the mood in the Indian camp.
“We were not thinking about a series win because we were just bowled out for 36. The mood in the dressing room was a bit own. Ravi Bhai organised a team dinner. He arranged for karaoke, he started singing. He sang old Hindi songs. Everybody joined in,” said Ashwin.
Following the 36 all-out, the India Cricket Team staged a massive comeback to win the Test series in Australia. The biggest highlight came when India went on to breach the fortress Gabba in the final Test match of the series. Furthermore, India had to do it with the absence of Virat Kohli who returned home for the birth of his daughter.
Ashwin revealed how Ravi Shastri uplifted the spirts of the entire camp by arranging a karaoke night. The former India head coach went on to sing old Hindi songs which then the entire team joined.
“We were in a bubble, Virat was also getting ready to return. We were just focussing on doing well in the next Test in Melbourne. We kept small targets,” Ashwin added.
After India’s 36 run all-out, Australia had to chase a mere target of 90 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
