PBKS vs MI: Punjab Kings finisher Ashutosh Sharma believed to could have pulled off a win against Mumbai Indians

Another day in IPL 2024, and Ashutosh Sharma nearly helped Punjab Kings take victory over Mumbai Indians. The PBKS finisher hammered 61 runs from 28 balls to terrorise Hardik Pandya and co. Sharma’s knock however fell short as Mumbai Indians emerged victorious in the last over of the game,

Could pulled off a win

Punjab Kings have got themselves a finisher in the form of Ashutosh Sharma who can win the game for them from any condition. Tasked to chase 193, PBKS top order had a collapse after being reduced to 14-4. But the dynamic duo of Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma helped the hosts recover from the perilous condition.

Despite his heroics, Punjab Kings eventually fell short by 10 runs. Harpreet Brar too tried to go the distance towards the end, but eventually fell short as Mumbai Indians picked up their 3rd win of the campaign.

“We have to focus on our process and not be bothered about the result. If the process is good then you will move at the right direction. I had the belief of pulling off a win,” said Ashutosh Sharma after the game.

Not a hard hitter

While people may claim that Ashutosh Sharma is a slogger, the PBKS finisher doesn’t believe of the same. He claims that he plays proper cricketing shots which is a huge morale booster for him.

“We are working hard, our intention is also good. Win or loss is part of the game. The celebration (during fifty) was for Sanjay (Bangar). He told me, I am not a hard hitter, I play proper cricketing shots,” Ashutosh Sharma added.
