Ashes 2021-22 LIVE – Steve Smith Shadow Batting in Middle of Night: Remember the story of Sachin Tendulkar’s shawdow practice story in night during the West Indies series. Now Australia’s stand-in captain Steve Smith was also seen doing shawdow practice in the middle of night during the ongoing Ashes series – Follow Ashes 2021-22 live on InsideSport.IN. 

Smith was caught shadow practicing in the middle of the night on Saturday. In a video shared by his wife Dani Willis, the prolific right-hander can be seen checking out his new bat ahead of the Day 4 actions of the ongoing second Test in the Ashes 2021-22.

Steve Smith Seinfeld Fan: Smith is also a big fan of iconic American sitcom Seinfeld which he watches every night. As he was doing his shadow practice, the show was getting played on the television set.

The video shows famous sit-com in the background as Steve Smith keenly scrutinises his bat before going through his trademark stance in the Adelaide dressing room.

Ashes 2021-22 LIVE: Willis had earlier shared a video of Steve Smith shadow practicing ahead of the third Test against India in January this year.

Ashes 2021-22 LIVE: In the ongoing pink-ball Test, Steve Smith returned to captain Australia for the first time after the infamous Sandpaper Gate scandal in 2018 which saw him getting banned from international and domestic cricket for a period of 12 months.

The 32-year-old scored 93 runs off 201 balls in the first innings to help Australia declare at  473 runs for the loss 9 wickets. At the end of Day 3, the hosts bundled out England for 236 before deciding to not enforce the follow-on and bat again.

Australia are looking all set to take a 2-0 lead in the ongoing Ashes 2021-22.
