The scuffle, the reason of which is still unknown, got so intense that one of the fans ended up on the ground with his shirt torn before security and spectators tried to separate the feuding men.

The brawl took place directly above the corporate boxes where WAGs from Australia and England were cheering their men on. Sources told Daily Mail Australia the two WAG groups seemed to be friendly with each other, unlike some of the spectators in the crowd.

In one of the now-viral pictures Emma McCarthy, the fiancee of Australian spin bowler Nathan Lyon who is one short of his 400th Test scalp, can be seen watching the brawl while talking on the phone.
A spokesman told Daily Mail Australia 13 fans were evicted from the Gabba on Thursday, including two pitch invaders who ran onto the field and disrupted play.

One will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act and the other has been issued with a Notice of Public Nuisance.

As for the match, the Three Lions struggled on the first two days of the first Test in Brisbane with Australia in driver’s seat. But England captain Joe Root along with Dawid Malan led the fightback with unbeaten 86 and 80 at the end of Day 3 play. England are 220/2 and still trail Australia by 58 runs.
