DC and RCB have played each other once already this season, with RCB emerging victorious and handing The Capitals their 5th consecutive defeat. Since that defeat, Capitals have turned it around, winning three of the next four matches they have played. Inclusion of Ishant Sharma and Philip Salt alongside David Warner coming to form has helped them get the desired results they wanted.
Bangalore on the other hand, have had good batting stats with du Plessis and Kohli both in the race for the orange cap and Maxwell playing the role of the middle order enforcer. Their bowling had been led by Siraj and Harshal with great assistance by leggie’s Hasaranga and Karn Sharma. With a win in this match, RCB can leapfrog others and reach the top 3 in the points table.
Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report
The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi has hosted 81 Indian Premier League matches so far. In the four matches played here this season, chasing teams have won three of four matches. The pitch is fickle and has seen sides score ranging from 120s to 190s in the first innings.
In limited-overs cricket, the pitch here at the Arun Jaitely Stadium is on the slower side. The boundaries are small and outfield is often quick. With these things in mind, the team batting first will aim to score around 170 runs and challenge the chasing side. Due to the slowness of the pitch, spinners come into the game and make it difficult for the batters in the middle overs.
During the months of April and May, Delhi usually experiences hot and humid weather but a sudden change in the weather can help the fast bowlers. The waether during the evening on the match day shows a moderate temperature of 32 C with cloudy conditions. These conditions can help pacers with the new ball with cloudy and windy atmosphere.
A total of 81 IPL matches have been played here at his venue. Out of which the chasing team won 44 times, while the team batting first won 36 times with one no result.
The average first-inning score at this venue is 164 runs. The highest total ever recorded here is 231 runs, which was smashed by home team DC. Conversely, the lowest total ever recorded here is 66 runs, which is also scored by DC.
In Delhi, it is expected that both teams will opt to bowl first if they win the toss.
