Arshdeep Singh continues to impress across formats. Already one of the best T20 bowlers in the world and having troubled some of India’s best batters like Nitish Kumar Reddy, Musheer Khan, and Suryakumar Yadav in the Duleep Trophy earlier in the year, the left-arm pacer has now taken a scintillating 5-wicket haul against the reigning Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Ranji Trophy, and Irani Cup champions, Shreyas Iyer-led Mumbai.
Arshdeep Singh gets Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube & Suryakumar Yadav
After two somewhat underwhelming outings against Nagaland and Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, the pacer from Punjab rattled five of Mumbai’s top six at the ADSA Railways Cricket Ground in Ahmedabad. the left-arm pacer bowled a 7-over spell and got Ayush Mhatre, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shivam Dube out.
Arshdeep Singh’s new ball ability
Arshdeep has shown that he’s got great control and is a brilliant new ball bowler. Possessing the ability to swing the ball both ways, the left-arm pacer can prove to be quite a handful. In the limited opportunities he’s gotten, Arshdeep has shown he can find success in ODIs as well.
Chance to make ICC Champions Trophy squad
With the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj present, Arshdeep has found it difficult to make it to the XI. On head coach Gautam Gambhir’s first tour, the T20 World Cup 2024 champion did play two matches but didn’t find the success one had hoped.
With Shami currently injured and Siraj out of sorts, Arshdeep has a chance to find a spot in India’s squad for the upcoming England ODIs and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
