Arshad Khan’s cameo earns him ‘good package’ tag from LSG coach Justin Langer

Arshad Khan stayed unbeaten on 58 runs off 33 deliveries as he made a valiant attempt to get his team across the line against DC

Lucknow Super Giants coach Justin Langer is mighty impressed with Arshad Khan after his cameo against LSG. The tailender stayed unbeaten on 58 runs off 33 deliveries as he made a valiant attempt to get his team across the line against DC. His efforts went in vain as Rishabh Pant and co. picked up a 19-run victory, knocking LSG out of IPL 2024.

‘Arshad Khan a good package’

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Justin Langer labeled Arshad as a good package. He also pointed out that the youngster could go on to become a very handy bowling all-rounder in the future.

I think Arshad Khan is a very good cricketer. You saw that he swung the ball early. He is a good fieldsman and to be able to bat like that, he is a very good package. I’ve thought, watching him through the tournament, that he has potential and he showed some of it tonight,” Langer said.

After consistently performing at domestic tournaments, the Mumbai Indians picked Arshad in the 2022 auction at a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Despite being ruled out due to injury for the entire season, he was replaced by Kumar Kartikeya. However, MI still retained him for the 2023 season, where he played six matches and picked up five wickets.

Who won DC vs LSG?

Delhi Capitals edged out Lucknow Super Giants by a narrow 19-run margin in a tense IPL 2024 encounter. It was the last match of the season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Abhishek Porel’s fifty and Tristan Stubbs’ late hitting got DC to 208 runs. LSG’s chase started on a worst possible note as Ishant Sharma’s hurt them significantly. He took three wickets quickly. DC’s bowlers held their nerve in the death overs to secure a crucial win and stay in playoff contention.
