Arjun Tendulkar enters the IPL 2025 mega-auction list after MI release: Know his base price

Arjun Tendulkar has entered the IPL 2025 mega-auction after being released by Mumbai Indians. The left-arm pacer has set his base price at ₹30 lakh.

The left-arm pacer and bowling allrounder, Arjun Tendulkar has entered the IPL 2025 mega-auction after being released by Mumbai Indians. With four IPL seasons under his belt, he has set his base price at ₹30 lakh. The BCCI has also raised the minimum base price for players ahead of the auction. The mega-auction will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 24th and 25th November.

Journey with Mumbai Indians

Arjun joined Mumbai Indians in 2021 at a base price of ₹20 lakh. Before that, he had travelled with the team to the UAE in 2020 as a net bowler. In the IPL 2022 mega-auction, MI re-signed him for ₹30 lakh. He made his IPL debut in 2023 when Gujarat Titans were the only team to bid for him.

Performance and current Form

In IPL 2023, Arjun played four matches for the Mumbai Indians but featured in just one game the following season. Heading into the IPL 2025 mega-auction, he is in good form, delivering consistent performances for Goa in the Ranji Trophy. While he may not attract high bids, his recent form could earn him a couple of offers.

Arjun sparkles in Ranji Trophy, a great audition

Arjun Tendulkar recently surpassed his legendary father Sachin Tendulkar’s first-class record with a stunning performance. The 25-year-old left-arm pacer, representing Goa, dismantled Arunachal Pradesh’s batting lineup, claiming 5 wickets for just 25 runs in nine overs. This maiden five-wicket haul bowled out AP for a mere 84 runs.

With this achievement, Arjun joins the elite club of cricketers who have both a century and a five-wicket haul in first-class cricket—a milestone that even the iconic Sachin Tendulkar couldn’t achieve during his illustrious career of 310 first-class matches, including 200 memorable Tests. Such performances could bolster his chances of attracting a buyer in the upcoming mega auction.

Mumbai Indians’ strategy for IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians have retained five key players, including Jasprit Bumrah (₹18 crore), Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav. Despite a disappointing IPL 2024 season where MI finished last, the team’s management has confirmed Hardik Pandya will remain the captain.

Mumbai Indians’ decision to retain their core players shows their focus on rebuilding for IPL 2025. Meanwhile, Arjun Tendulkar’s consistent domestic form makes him an intriguing prospect in the upcoming auction.
