Anushka Sharma drops out of Jhulan Goswami’s biopic, will continue to produce the film- Report

The biopic on Jhulan Goswami is being produced by Anushka’s production house Clean Slate Filmz and directed by Prosit Roy. The film was scheduled to go on floors this year. However, as per reports, Anushka will no longer play Jhulan Goswami.

Though the reason for Anushka’s pullout from the project is still not known, reports suggest that the biopic will continue to be produced by Anushka’s Clean Slate Filmz and directed by Roy.

Earlier, photos of the trio consisting of Anushka Sharma, Jhulan Goswami, and director Prosit Joy went viral on social media platforms when they started preparing for the project at Eden Gardens in Kolkata last year.

With Anushka pulling out to play the character, the makers are said to rope in a new actor for the biopic.

The biopic will explore Jhulan Goswami’s entire journey from her hometown Chakdaha in Nadia district, West Bengal to Lord’s where India lost out on the women’s World Cup final to England. Jhulan was named the ICC Women’s Player of the Year in 2007.
