Akash Deep has been a breath of fresh air on Day 2 of the IND vs BAN 1st Test. The bowling all-rounder showcased his batting prowess after Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed early on in the day. Akash Deep hammered 4 fours in his lively knock of 17 runs that eventually helped India cross the 350 run mark. But while batting, he was hit on the back while taking a run by Bangladeshi fielder Hasan Mahmud.
The hit the deck bowler, playing only his second Test match of his career looked uncomfortable when hit on his lower back. The physios were immediately brought into the field to give him attention.
After the short hold up in the play, the game resumed. But Akash Deep’s stay was very short lived. He played a ball before being dismissed on the second ball.
Replays showed that Hasan Mahmud apologised to Akash Deep after hitting him on his back. The incident can however be deemed as an accident. In a bid to grab the last couple of wickets, Hasan was adamant to grab a wicket.
Akash Deep slammed 4 boundaries to score a quick firing 17 runs. In the end India was eventually all-our 376 with Hasan Mahmud bagging a fifer.
