Another ex-Pakistan player in PCB? Azhar Ali likely to join bee line, given key role

Azhar Ali may follow other former players' footsteps in joining the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a part of the rehaul

The wave of change seems to be continuing in Pakistan Cricket Board as yet another former player is set to join the administration. Test veteran Azhar Ali is likely to be given a key role in the cricket administration. Ali’s probable addition comes as a part of the PCB’s rehaul after Pakistan’s devastating World Cup 2023 run.

Azhar Ali to get PCB role?

As per Pakistan publication The News, Azhar Ali is likely to be appointed as the Director of PCB’s National Cricket Academy (NCA). The decision regarding his appointment will reportedly be taken by the end of this month. Ali will be responsible for cricket development and coaching if he heads the NCA.

Following Pakistan’s exit at the World Cup, PCB made a string of changes, with all the previous coaches and bosses stepping down. Wahab Riaz was named as the chief selector of the team, replacing Inzaman-ul-Haq. Mohammed Hafeez will lead the side as the head coach. Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal were roped in as the bowling coaches for the side after Morne Morkel resigned.
