IPL 2023 concluded a couple of months and the franchises have all started to finalize their coach and head management. With the existing contracts of coaches and other staff members expiring, the underperforming teams have started to begin their rebuild from the top level. After Lucknow Super Giants appointed Justin Langer, Rajasthan Royals are now keen to appoint Andy Flower.
As Langer replaced Flower, this makes the latter available for other clubs to take him in their midst. Sunrisers Hyderabad too are on the market in the look for a head coach. Though there has been no official communication on the matter, it is believed that Brain Lara’s spot can be under threat. Unsurprisingly with Flower’s removal, the spot of Gautam Gambhir is also at a slight risk.

With Rajasthan Royals on the hunt for a new head coach, Kumar Sangakkara who filled in the spot of the head coach will move back to his original role of Director of Cricket, while Andy Flower will become the head coach should the former Zimbabwean cricketer decided to join the Royals.

Brian Lara’s Uncertainty
Sunrisers Hyderabad had a poor outing in IPL 2023 and finished bottom last, scoring even fewer points than Delhi Capitals. Therefore it is quite natural that SRH will be looking for a new coach for the upcoming season. Though Brian Lara and the team have not had conversations on the same, it can be believed that the ties are most likely to be cut in the coming days.
As for Royal Challengers Bangalore, things also don’t look too good. Having failed to make the IPL 2023 Playoffs, the franchisee is yet to take a decision on team director Mike Henson and head coach Sanjay Bangar. Reports claim that their contracts won’t be renewed.
