Former England star Andrew Flintoff will reportedly part ways with the team due to differences with white-ball skipper Jos Butller. Flintoff was involved as a short-term consultant for the team while he was also the coach for The Hundred franchise Northern Superchargers.

As per the Morning Telegraph, Flintoff failed to ‘gel with Buttler’, forcing the former to move out. Marcus Trescothick, who is the stand-in white-ball coach after the departure of Mathew Mott, will reportedly be given full freedom to appoint the coaching and support staff.

Trescothick did not deny ambitions of taking up a full-time coaching job and said that he was very much interested.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity, for sure,” he said. “I’m really excited about doing the job. We’ll work it out a little bit more from there.
Buttler’s controversial run as captain
Buttler’s captaincy was under review after England’s debacles at the ODI and T20 World Cup. Earlier, reports claimed that Buttler was likely to be stripped off captaincy while a new coach was expected to be named soon in place of Mathew Mott. However, he is set to continue as captain.
