Amidst injury concerns, will Rishabh Pant play IND vs NZ 2nd Test in Pune?

Is Rishabh Pant injured? Will the ace India Cricket Team star be fit in time for the India vs New Zealand Pune Test?

First a loss in the IND vs NZ 1st Test and now there remains a cloud of doubt about the availability of Rishabh Pant for the Pune Test. The destructive batter was hit on his right knee which forced Dhruv Jurel to keep wickets for India in the latter parts of the game.

On the other hand, the southpaw unleashed his carnage in Bengaluru where he went on to hammer 99 runs in India’s second innings. But now questions have been raised on his participation in the IND vs NZ 2nd Test in Pune. Will the ace keeper be fit to play the next match?

Will Rishabh Pant make the cut for Pune Test?

As per latest reports. te selectors won’t be taking any call regarding the matter. In fact they have kept the decision on the team management to take a call on the availability of Rishabh Pant. As for replacements, Dhruv Jurel is already there in the mixes and it waiting for his chance to get another chance to play a Test match for the country.

Even if Jurel doesn’t make the Playing XI, then also India has a keeper backup option. KL Rahul is a good keeper and if needed he can easily slot in behind the stumps. But KL Rahul’s selection for the Pune Test is a major talking point. After a disastrous performance in the previous game and with Shubman Gill returning, KL might have to give away his place in the team to young Sarfaraz Khan who slammed a 150 in the second innings.

“This game will test your limits, knock you down, lift you up and throw you back again. But those who love it rise stronger every time. Thanks to the amazing Bengaluru crowd for the love, support and cheers. We will be back stronger” wrote Pant on X.
