Amid T20 WC 2024 run, West Indies name their squad for Test series vs England in July

West Indies Test team shocked cricketing world in their last red-ball assignment when they drew the 2-match Test series vs Australia Down Under

The West Indies Cricket Board (CWI) has named a 15-man squad to tour England for the three-match ‘Richards-Botham’ series starting July 10th at Lord’s. The red-ball tour kicks off at the historic Lord’s on July 10, following the ongoing T20 World Cup which the West Indies is co-hosting alongside USA.

The 31-year-old opener Kraigg Brathwaite has retained his captaincy, with Alzarri Joseph continuing as vice-captain. The team will arrive in England on June 23 for a training camp before a four-day warm-up match starting on July 4. West Indies chief selector, Dr. Desmond Haynes, is confident in the squad’s balance. As per West Indies’ official website, he said, “We’ve selected a blend of experience and promising youngsters to tackle the challenge of English conditions. Our focus on red-ball cricket over the past year is paying off, with the win in Australia a clear example. Each player deserves their spot based on consistent performances. We believe this mix of veterans and rising stars will put up a strong fight against England.”
