Amid boycott IND vs PAK campaign, BCCI to host PCB chief Zaka Ashraf for dinner

PCB chief Zaka Ashraf met with Babar Azam & Co ahead of the big clash before attending an official dinner hosted by BCCI officials in Ahmedabad.

There may be a fraction that is calling for boycott of IND vs PAK match amid cross-border tension. But in Ahmedabad, BCCI and government officials will be busy attending to the guests including Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Zaka Ashraf, who will attend the India vs Pakistan ICC ODI World Cup clash in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Ashraf also met with Babar Azam & Co at the team hotel before the mega match.

“BCCI will host a dinner in honour of Mr Zaka Ashraf, which will be attended by all BCCI officials and senior Government officials,” PCB confirmed the development on its Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, on social media platforms, boycott IND vs PAK has been trending ahead of the mega clash. Some fans are upset at India and BCCI’s hospitality of Pakistan Cricket Team and Zaka Ashraf.

Fans unhappy with BCCI

While the Pakistan Cricket Team received rousing reception and great hospitality in Hyderabad, some are not happy. There was no opening ceremony for the ICC ODI World Cup. However, before there will be some sort of ceremony in Ahmedabad before the IND vs PAK match on Saturday. Fans have lashed out at the BCCI for the special treatment.

In fact, the IND vs PAK match will get security from NSG Commandoes. It’s the same armed unit that defended against terrorists during 26/11 attack.
