The ICC has finalised the date for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025. Lord’s was already decided as the venue, and 9 months before the match for the ICC Test Mace is played, June 11 to 15 has been decided as the date for the showdown between the top two Test sides.
All eyes on IPL 2025 schedule
The fascinating thing now will be to see when the IPL 2025 season will end. The last WTC Final in 2023 was played from June 7-11, with the IPL 2023 Final ending on May 30. The Indian players got less than a week of rest before traveling to the Oval in London and were undercooked, which resulted in India losing a second WTC Final.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah previously mentioned that there will be a 15-day gap between the IPL Final and the WTC Final in 2025. Last season (2024), the BCCI decided to have the final on May 26. Given that Lord’s will host the match on June 11, we could have the IPL 2025 Final played on May 26 as well.
