PSL 2024: Pakistan cricket team fans are facing a moment of worry as their ace pacer, Haris Rauf, sustained an injury during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 match against Karachi Kings. This incident raises concerns, especially considering the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Haris Rauf injury scare

While attempting a leaping catch at long-off to dismiss Karachi Kings’ batsman, Haris Rauf landed awkwardly and injured himself.

Though the catch was eventually confirmed by the third umpire, Rauf had to leave the field with an elastic bandage around his right shoulder.

Captain Shaheen Afridi Expresses Concern:

Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi confirmed Rauf’s injury but remained hopeful for a speedy recovery. “Haris Rauf is injured, he bowled really well today and I hope he recovers soon. I don’t know the extent of his injury, but we’re praying for him,” he stated.

Karachi Kings Clinch Thrilling Victory:

Despite Rauf’s absence, the match continued, and Karachi Kings secured a dramatic two-wicket victory against Lahore Qalandars on the final ball of the last over. The Kings chased down a target of 176 runs, thanks to crucial contributions from Kieron Pollard (58 runs) and Shoaib Malik (39 runs).

Uncertainty Looms Over T20 World Cup Participation:

While the full extent of Rauf’s injury is yet to be revealed, his absence from the field during a crucial tournament like the PSL has caused concern and speculation about his participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Pakistan fans and the cricket fraternity await further updates on Rauf’s condition, hoping for a quick recovery and his presence in the national team for the T20 World Cup.
