Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly claimed that Akash Deep could match the bowling speeds of Mohammed Shami and Siraj

Former India cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly has claimed that pacer Akash Deep will be a player to watch out for ahead of India’s Test season. The Bengal pacer has been included in the squad for IND vs BAN series, marking his return to the Test setup after his debut earlier in the year in February. Akash will be bowling alongside veterans Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

Speaking at an event in Kolkata, Sourav Ganguly noted that he had seen Akash Deep play for Bengal and labeled him as an outstanding bowler who can bowl quick and for longer periods. He claimed that Akash was capable of matching the speeds of Siraj and Shami. Ganguly further said that Akash Deep would be a player to watch out for.

Akash Deep is an outstanding young fast bowler. He bowls quick and is capable of bowling for long periods. I’ve seen him play for Bengal. He will be as quick as Siraj and Shami. He is one to watch out for,” Ganguly said.
