Akash Deep all but confirmed for IND vs BAN Tests after 9-wicket haul in Duleep Trophy?

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Shami, Akash Deep is right in the front to be named in India's squad for IND vs BAN Test series

Pacer Akash Deep was on absolute fire in the Duleep Trophy opener against India B. With a fiery 9-wicket haul in the 1st match, the pacer has made his case for his inclusion in IND vs BAN Test series. The two-match Test series will get underway from September 19 onwards and will be held in Chennai and Kanpur.

Akash Deep’s golden chance to return to Indian Test side

Akash Deep had made his India debut in IND vs ENG series earlier this year in February. Now, he gets a golden chance to once again be a part of the XI. With Jasprit Bumrah getting an extended break and Mohammed Shami in the final stage of his recovery from injury, Akash Deep is in prime position to grab a spot in the XI and be a part of the pace department which is likely to be spearheaded by Mohammed Siraj.
