Since taking on his new role, Agarkar has gone on to select the Indian squad for the upcoming Asian Games set to take place in China. While a member of the selection committee, Salil Ankola is already traveling with the squad, Agarkar will join the squad to have a conversation with the team.

The Indian team after enjoying a couple of free days owing to the first Test being over in just 3 days will travel to Trinidad on Monday. It is understood that the BCCI Chief Selector will meet the team and have a conversation with the skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid.

Reports claim that Agarkar will speak with Rohit and Rahul before finalizing the squad for the India Tour of Ireland. The seniors and the core team are expected to begin their preparation for the Asia Cup and the World Cup while the reserves will travel to Ireland. This will be crucial for the Men in Blue and with an increased chance of injury in the team, this move serves as a perfect opportunity to work on the Workload management in the team.
