Airfare for IND vs PAK World Cup contest in Ahmedabad continues to skyrocket at a shocking ‘415%’

While fans are already grappling with exorbitant rates for hotels and airline services for the IND vs PAK contest, the airfare surge comes as a further blow

It looks like there is no respite for fans who are eagerly waiting for the IND vs PAK contest at the World Cup 2023. It is no secret that the fares for the tickets, hotel rooms and airline services have already hit the ceiling. As per the latest reports, there is a 415% surge in the price of air tickets to Ahmedabad, potentially making the lives of the fans more miserable, given the already existing exorbitant rates for the services.

As per a Times of India report, there has been a 415% surge in ticket prices for the IND vs PAK World Cup 2023 contest. The high-octane clash is all set to take place on October 14 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. India emerged victorious by a huge margin in their last meeting at the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka.

IND vs PAK: Airfares surge by 415% for World Cup game

As per reports, a user is likely to be charged 106%-415% extra for a trip to Ahmedabad for the World Cup game on October 14. Flights from various cities to Ahmedabad has surged over the last few days, with the highest rate at approximately Rs 43,000 for a round trip.

As per the TOI report, a city travel operator opined that the airfares are bound to increase, considering the increase in the rates for hotel rooms. It is pertinent to point out that no other World Cup game involving India has seen the sales that amount to the money made from the IND vs PAK contest.

As per reports, a round trip to Ahmedabad from Chandigarh costs Rs 43,833 as on September 20 for the IND vs PAK contest. A round trip from Hyderabad costs approximately Rs 40,000 while other cities are tailing behind with a fare of above Rs 20,000.

World Cup 2023

 India is all set to host ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in October-November this year. With the schedule out, ENG vs NZ will mark the beginning of the WC on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India will face Pakistan at the same venue on October 5. Rohit Sharma & Co will begin the tournament against Australia in Chennai on Oct 5.

This is the fourth time that India will be hosting cricket’s global showpiece event. A total of 8 teams have already confirmed their spots through the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League 2020-23. India gained direct entry into the tournament as the hosts. The remaining 2 teams will qualify from World Cup Qualifiers 2023
