India vs England Live: How does the pitch look at Trent Bridge?
In the images BCCI shared, the pitch of Trent Bridge sported a green look with plenty of grass on the track. The grass on the pitch must be tempting Kohli & Ravi Shastri to unleash Team India’s pace battery with even Mohammed Siraj could be coming in as the 4th pacer.

India vs England Live: But that is where the problem might begin for Indian batsmen. Time and again, India have proved that they are not comfortable playing on grassy wickets. The last time India toured England, James Anderson, Stuart Broad & Co ran with a 4-1 series win. In New Zealand, India weren’t comfortable on such wickets either.
England fast-bowler James Anderson has declared that India should not complain of such wickets after BCCI prepared dusty, turning tracks when they toured India. England were thrashed in the 4-match series 3-1.
“I don’t think India can have any complaints if we do leave a bit of grass [on the pitch] because of what we came up against in our tour of India last time. It certainly played into India’s hands. They used the home advantage to their benefit,” James Anderson was quoted saying by PTI.
India vs England Live: With plenty of swing and seam movement on offer, James Anderson & Co are eager to hit the pitch. Furthermore, the extra carry and movement the pitch will have is beneficial to them.
“A green pitch brings India’s seam attack into the game as well. We want pace and carry on the pitches because we know quite often it is going to swing here, so we want that extra carry,” Anderson added.
India vs England Live: How is the weather going to be like?
The weather predictions, however, make things complicated. The UK MET Office has predicted intermittent rain and overcast conditions throughout the 1st Test.
India vs England Live: Day 1 weather prediction: As per UK MET, there is a 40% chance of rain in the 2nd session.
Day 2 weather prediction: There is a 50% chance of rain in the 2nd session apart from the overnight rain that could prevent a timely start to Day 2.
Day 3: The start of Day 3 could be delayed as UK Met Office has predicted a 40% chance of rain in the morning. Furthermore, with intermittent shower throughout Day 3, rain is set to play spoilsport.
India vs England Live: Day 4: Similar to Day 3, rain is predicted throughout Day 4, curtailing the match by a fair bit.
Day 5: The final day of the 1st Test set for a full day’s play with no prediction of rain.
